Who’s Driving the Bus?

For some time, I have experienced the Oneness of my Whole Self to be my more essential identity, and my individuality to be a secondary aspect. I took both aspects in combination to be the doer of my life. Now, however, I am regularly having experiences that my Whole Self is not involved in doing at all. Initially it has presented some sense of confusion that my life continues on effectively without any involvement of my essential Self.

The thought arises, “how is this all happening without apparent involvement and control on my part?”   Though this is inexplicable to my rational mind, I am gradually gaining comfort with the situation and allowing myself to go with the flow of what indisputably is.

This is giving rise to an equally paradoxical experience: when I just go with the flow and don’t attempt to meddle by applying the old paradigm of control, my life responds seamlessly. For example, my dog Ginger and I flow in unison, my chronically injured wrist performs without re-injury, my exercise proceeds with my body responding as though it is at rest, etc.
